Can anyone help with this issue???? If you need clarification, please ask and I will try to provide more details.

IP 2003

SQL Server 2005

Workflow: Invoice tracking system with dual approvals.

Problem: One set of approval buttons works fine. The other doesn't.

Error:

InfoPath cannot submit the form.

An error occurred while the form was being submitted.

[0x80040E38][Microsoft Cursor Engine] Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read.

Overview of flow:

User enters invoice details via a separate input form which works fine.

A second form allows a user to view all invoices after running a simple query like "New" invoices. The results are in a Master Detail setup.

Everything works nicely.

When a user selects one record in the master view they have the detail view display below. The detail part has 2 send buttons.

One button updates a few SQL fields/flags a non-SQL field called "formstatus" to admin/submits to main connection in SQL/Sends form via a data connection (Email with attachment) to person.

Another button follows the same as the button just above but with minor differences in values. Like the "formstatus" is equaled to case instead.

Both buttons fills a non SQL field called "Get" with the SQL Primary Key Number.

Everything works nicely still.

The recipients open the attachment. Depending on the person, the form switches to another view.

This view has one main repeating section relating to the main data connection (SQL). The repeating sections filters to the appropriate record by using the value in the filed "Get".

Everything works nicely.

Within this repeating section in this separate view, there are sections that have conditions set to display differently depending on the value set in "formstatus".

Everything works nicely.

Within these sections are buttons called "Approve" and "Reject". Both buttons fill in a few fields/ connects to the main data connection/ then emails without attachment.

If "formstatus" = "case": Everything works just fine. The person can click either buttons with issues and the email is sent.

If "formstatus" = "admin": the first click of either buttons generates the error

InfoPath cannot submit the form.

An error occurred while the form was being submitted.

[0x80040E38][Microsoft Cursor Engine] Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read.

During testing, I was both the "admin" and "case" recipients so I received both emails. It doesn't matter in which order I open these two attachments. The "admin" buttons always generates this error it seems. The "case" set of buttons are fine.

Question:

Why does this error happen for one set of buttons and not the other when both buttons are for the same record?

Is there a method to follow when using master/detail and repeating sections in a workflow that consists of more than one approvers?

Additional Information and Question:

I was able to make both set of buttons work, but it created another problem. On open, these two attachments were ruled to set a query field "InvoiceID" to the value in the field "Get", then query against the main data connection, then open to the view. My hope was that it would refresh things so that the error didn't happen.

The result: Both buttons work nicely. BUT, the view and the repeating section in that view which is running on a filter of the "Get" value doesn't always display! Very strange. It displays some times and when it does, the buttons work nicely. The other times, the view is blank!

This method of refreshing the connection each time a form is opened to a main data connection has worked, but in this situation it doesn't always.

My thought is that the issue may be in the repeating section when this method is used. My previous attempts with this method were on standard sections not repeating.

If anyone knows what I doing wrong here, please let me know.
