Thanks for the Reply's. I've got the concept, but how do you set the hidden textbox to populate the submitters email id? The only function that I see is the the userName() function, which just adds the users login id, not their email address. Also, how do you connect the Reject Button and the hidden textbox?

i would suggest a simple approach would be to create a field(say submittedBy). and populate its value with the email id of the person who submits the form, at submit time. then you can use this email id.

Using a Button for Rejecting a form

So, I'm new to InfoPath and have little to no experience in this type of stuff, but I was sucessful in put together a InfoPath form using one of the samples. Just modified a lot of the functions and added what was required. It worked great around the office. Helped organize info and saved time. But now I was asked to modify the form to incorporate new features. The basic layout of the form allows you to fill in some tables, select certain clients and add descriptions as needed. There's three buttons at the top, one to Submit (or send) the email to Dept. Head, the other two buttons are Approve and Reject. The Approve button just sends the email to multiple locations after its been reviewed and verified. Reject is were I'm having my problem.

My question is: When someone hits the Reject button is there a way that the form will be sent back to the person that submittied the form for approval? For example, if you click on a button and open the data connection wizard, click insert formula, insert function, there's (userName) that automatically fills in the user name of the person who is working on the form. I'm looking for a function that automatically fills in the To: of the person who sent the email.

I hope you can help!

Thanks

Carey
