The best way to do this would be to show the field as a read only text box and set the default value as the sum or whichever math function you want to do. You can also use Rules to set the field value and that should also work.

Does this help?

Shanthi
InfoPathDev India

Sum of a filtered node set

I created a new thread last week and didn't receive any responses. I did some more research and maybe I can ask the question better now.

I have an Access DB which contains my Leave Tracking data. The InfoPath form I am creating will be a leave request form with several fields being calculated for the user. I am allowing a user to enter a date when the leave will/has occurred. The date will be used to filter only those Pay Period records which are before the date entered.

The fields in each record returned are:

payPeriod (date)
sickAvail (decimal)
sickUsed (decimal)

I want to sum the values of sickAvail & sickUsed. Can I do this as simply a calculated Expression BOx or should I be using the Event Rules to set field values? Does anyone have an example, because I have not been able to get this to work yet.
