Is there an easy way to pick the software from the secondary data connection, and have those records automatically insert into the "repeating section" of computerdetail? I guess, how do I transfer the data from the secondary to the repeating section of the primary?

Re: Pick Multiple Values

Your main connection will need to include both the ComputerMaster and the ComputerDetail table, properly connected on whatever columns make up the relationship. You can add another data connection for your SoftwareMaster table, and use those values for a drop down list in your form so that your users can select from the appropriate software.

Your form will probably consist of a section with the ComputerMaster fields and another repeating section or repeating table bound to the ComputerDetail table.

Hope that helps...

If you are new to InfoPath, there are some great labs on MSDN that can help you get started....

Pick Multiple Values

I looking for direction.

I'm building a Computer Inventory database and using INfopath as the front end. My main data connection submits to a Database. When I add a new computer, I have a list displayed of all possible software that will be assigned to that computer. I want to be able to pick multiple software entries and have that submit to the database.

I have 3 database tables.

ComputerMaster - Contains a unique row for every computer

ComptuerDetail - Is linked to Comptuer Master and contains an entry for every piece of Software.

SoftwareMaster - Contains a unique list of software.

Any ideas, would be welcome.
