browser, the content in the resulting XML will contain HTML like this:

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><div>test1 test2 test3</div></html>

However, if I fill-in the field from the InfoPath client it will just contain the text i.e. "test1 test2 test3".

Are forms filled-in from the browser guaranteed to be compatible with the office client application?

Cheers.

Re: Schema Validation Errors

Hi Andy,

Somehow the form is not parsing the XHTML (rich text data) correctly when it opens and it fails to load as a result. We'd have to look at the form. How are you loading hte field from SharePoint? You said a SharePoint list, but that implies you are writing code to save the data and then reopen it. You'll have to be careful to use the correct namespaces when you write the code etc. I twittered someone (maybe it was you) a while back - we have a tool to map XML to SharePoint lists (We're adding roundtrip support now so you can load the form back from the SharePoint list).Check it out: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/jo-anne_alfafara/archive/2009/04/04/how-to-use-qdabra-s-infopath-to-sharepoint-list-tool.aspx

Schema Validation Errors

Hello

I have an InfoPath 2007 form with a rich text field. If a save the form to a SharePoint library with the rich text field filled-in, and then try to re-open it in InfoPath I get the following error:

cannot open the following file: http://server/forms/form1.xml. The form contains schema validation errors. ?? Element '{http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml}html' is unexpected according to content model of parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2008-10-14T08:08:33}Note'.

If I don't fill-in the rich text field, the form re-opens without showing the above error. Also, if I convert the rich text field to a text box and fill it in, the form re-opens without error. It seems the error only occurs when a rich text field on the form is filled-in.

Does anyone have any idea why this error is showing when I have a filled-in rich text field?

Thanks,

Andy.
