It saved me lots of trouble. In my case there was no GPO setting. I had to change the registry key you mentioned, but it had to be changed under USERS (not Current User) and the SID associated with the account I needed it for. Thanks again for sharing!

Re: Programming options missing

For future searchers needing an answer...

We had a corporate GPO security setting called Custom Code which was disabled. It can also be accessed through a reg key (HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\InfoPath\Designer\RestrictedFeatures\CodeAllowed). Change the GPO setting (or remove the key) and all works fine.

There are no errors but the following items are all gone:

Tools menu - Programming

The entire section related to code in the Form Options - Programming section (I still have the custom task pane section but nothing below that)

The custom code option for controls (like buttons) and the edit code button

MSE is still present (using ALT SHIFT F11 brings it up), code still runs that is present in existing forms, and I can still edit code or type new code directly into MSE and everything works.

I have tried enabling "web debugging" with MSE in add/remove. I have also tried a complete office repair (although not an uninstall/reinstall yet). Neither helped. I also noted that Visual Studio Tools for Applications is not enabled in Add/Remove but I don't wish to use managed code - only scripting.

Any ideas where this issue might be coming from (and possible solutions)? I am investigating if maybe there is some security setting/GPO that would cause this but am not holding out much hope of that.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
