I've got this working simlpy be creating a asp.net page that looks up the database and then outputs the xml as text:

Response.ContentType = "application/xml";

Response.AppendHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + dataReader["Name"]);

Response.Write(dataReader["InfopathDoc"]);

Any comments?

I currently save the Infopath xml via a web service to an XML column in SQL Server and also save to a file share so that a link to the file can be sent to someone for approval.

Presumably I could avoid saving to a file share and just return the xml from SQL Server directly - I just am unsure of the best way to do that. Would I send a link to a web page that does response.write of the xml and since that has has the Infopath processing instructions, it would launch IP correctly? Or a REST web service that returns the XML? Or is there some other way?
