If you open manifest.xsf with at text editor, and search for rulesets, you'll find it. The ruleSets element may contain one or more ruleSet elements, which contain one or more rule elements. The rule element will have a caption attribute -- that will be the name you gave your rule when you created it. The rule has action elements defined within it -- those correspond to the rule actions you created when you created the rule. More information is available here, in the xsf reference on MSDN.

Re: Can I Export the Logic from the Logic Inspector?

Thank you for your reply! I have the source files, and I see the default values in 'sampledata.xml', and the conditional formatting from each view's .xsl file. I have the manifest, but I don't see how I can extract the rules from it.

I am looking to document the rules in my form. There are over 200 rules with almost 300 operations being performed, so it would just be a huge time-saver to have the ability to see the rules laid out somewhere.

Thanks!

Re: Can I Export the Logic from the Logic Inspector?

Rules are defined in manifest.xsf. Default values can be found in template.xml or sampledata.xml, and conditional formatting is scattered throughout each view's respective XSL file.

We can extract it in different files, default values we will get form template.xml file. Rules we can get the logic from manifest.xsf file and conditional formatting from view1.xsl file.

You will get source files follow these steps,

1. Open the form in design mode.

2. File -> Save as resource files to store the resource files in one location.

Can I Export the Logic from the Logic Inspector?

Hi all,

It's been a while! I am wondering if there is a way to extract the logic (i.e. the rules, default values, and conditional formatting) of all the fields in a form. I know I can print the logic inspector page, but I am hoping there is an easier way. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps it is somewhere in the source files?

Many thanks
