I figured it out. This is so stupid but I've ran into alot of people online that are having the same problem. I have 64 bit Vista on an IBM tablet pc. When you insert an ink picture, it's option to have a background image or nothing at all. And when you fill it out, you have to draw on the picture with ink entry mode TURNED OFF. But when you fill out a rich text field, you have to have ink mode turned on. Hopefully this helps some people out. I tried for hours to get it to work. You would think that it would have to be in ink entry mode to draw on the picture.

Re: Tablet PC Ink Drawing in Infopath doesn't work

Well. I had used this in InfoPath 2003 and XP tablet. But just trying it with Vista and 2007 SP1 I was able to confirm that I could not get ink on a picture, and reading again a background image is optional.

What OS and IP version are you using?

Re: Tablet PC Ink Drawing in Infopath doesn't work

Have you tried putting a picture in the control? I believe you have to have that first and then can ink on top of it.

Tablet PC Ink Drawing in Infopath doesn't work

I'm creating a customer sign up form which has an ink picture for
drawings. I've gone through the help files over and over. I've updated
office and searched everywhere.

When I insert an ink drawing, I
can't write on or in the ink picture when previewing or filling out the
form. I also have a rich text box which accept the ink pen and then
converts it to text. So I know the tablet pc drivers and setting are
working. Ink works in every other program as well. So it has to be a
problem with the ink picture. It's binding is correct according to the
microsoft help files.
Am I missing something? I have tried for hours to get this thing to work!
