You can use nvarchar(MAX) data type in the SQL.

InfoPath - SQL: Character Limitations Within InfoPath

Anyone know a workaround to InfoPath's limitations to only except vchar(8000) data type for a text field? Anything larger like vchar(MAX) InfoPath thinks that it is a long text type object and doesn't allow the form to submit correctly.

How do I allow InforPath 2003 with a main data connections to a SQL Server 2005 table to allow more than 8000 characters?

Or maybe the question should be: What data type within SQL should I use in the form to allow more than 8000 characters?

vchar(8000) is the best that I can come up with....was hoping vchar(max) would work..but no dice.

Thoughts?
