That seems to be exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.

This tells me that there currently is no XML export, and the only source of the data in a form that is in XML format is the submitted form itself.

Now I can put that to rest and move forward on alternative solutions. Thanks again!

I only see one conversion tool in the marketplace, and it is to convert other things into IP forms. You may end up needing to write your own -- add code to the form that writes an xml file with specific values from your form....

Re: InfoPath 2007 Export to XML?

Thanks HK for the input.

You can create multiple views in an InfoPath form.
What you have understood is wrong and what Shiva said is you can create another view with what all the fields you want to export to XML.And you can export that total view.

Follow the below steps to create a view:
1.View --> Task Pane
2.Under Design tasks
3.Click views.
4.Under Actions click ‘Add a New View’.

Here you copy the fields which you want to export from default view and paste in the new view added. Now you can export the total new view.

Re: InfoPath 2007 Export to XML?

Thank you for your response, Shiva.

I interpret from your response that the InfoPath form can have only one view, as opposed to multiple views. Is this correct?

We can submit the data in the format of .xml in local folder or SharePoint. We can export the data to excel what are the data available in that view. We can't export the only selected data from InfoPath form to xml. For this we have to create one view and we can export only those fields.

You might not repaired the installation successfully for this first you have to remove the existing InfoPath and re install it again.

InfoPath 2007 Export to XML?

InfoPathdev,

I need to be able to export selected data from an InfoPath form to XML, similar to how the Export ot Excel works. I downloaded the InfoPath 2007 trial, which has an export option of Find add-ins for other file formats... however I get an error message when clicking on this option (There is a problem with one or more installed help files. Please repair your Office installation and try again.). I have repaired the installation, uninstalled the trial and reinstalled, and still get the same error.

Can InfoPath 2007 selectively export data in an XML format? If so, how is this accomplished?

Thank you.
