Use a list to select the record you want, then put your ddl in a detail view for the selected record.

Repeating drop down bringing form to stand still

We have a complex Infopath form that incorporates a repeating table. Within the table is a field populated from a dropdown list. The values in the dropdown list are populated from a remote database via a web service which returns 2-300 rows (dependant on a company name value captured earlier in the form). As more rows are added to the table, the refresh of the form gets slower and slower. By the time you get to about 20 rows (which is often!) it takes an age to refresh (I assume that this is because it is holding dropdown list 20 times i.e. 20 x 2-300 values!). One of the other fields in the table is an expanding text field which also seems to contribute to slowness.

I am a user of this form not the developer but I would like to point my developers in the right direction!

Any ideas gratefully received?

Thanks
