I am also having this problem and it is starting to become very frustrating. I saw a post on the MSDN (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointinfopath/thread/0824f8b8-12e6-469f-ba48-072f71131dd0) forum that suggested applying the Office 2007 SP2 and republishing the template would resolve this issue. It hasn't resolved it for me.

Has anyone else made any progress with it?

Re: XML-files turn up blank after submission to Sharepoint

Hi Corry,

Thanks for your quick reply but unfortunately we already have MOSS 2007. I will have to verify with our IT department if our MOSS 2007 environment is up to date. For now I have versioning enable so at least our users do have to start the form from scratch again. I will have to do some more investigating.

Best regards,

Domenico

Re: XML-files turn up blank after submission to Sharepoint

Hi Domenico

I didn't solve this yet, got no suggestions from the community either.. What I did see is that all of the effected documents were pretty large (over 15 MB). The idea arose that it could have to do with connection problems, since it could take a while to upload such a document to our servers, which are on another physical location. Therefor we advised our users not to upload large pictures and scans in their Infopath forms, also for the sake of the opening time of their documents.

We now have moved to MOSS 2007 and I haven't seen the problem there (yet).

regards, Corry

Re: XML-files turn up blank after submission to Sharepoint

I have also been getting this behavior. We've noticed a strange phenomenon lately (although it has been happening since in 2007): sometimes, after altering the file, upon submission a form is saved as a totally blank .xml-file (0 kb, no info whatsoever in it). This appears to happen randomly, but it seems that most of the time there was a submission failure, stating something like:

InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
The form cannot be submitted to the following location: mysite/myfile.xml
The file is in use by another application or user.

We are investigating this, at the moment it happened 40 times on a total of 2500 files, and since we use versioning, it's not a huge problem, but indeed really annoying and the users' trust in the system isn't growing with these things happening.

does anyone recognize this, and even better knows what causes it and how to solve it?
