Then I have "perform custom action" checked. No condition so this rule always applies, and switch view to: read only.

In the client, this works fine when I do it thru the preview. But when I try to do it through sharepoint, it does not like it.

It will give me my custom success message after i click submit and then say "This form has been closed." but it does not go back to the form library. when i go to the form library there is nothing there. this is the only library on the site, so it's not like it went somewhere else. i keep deleted the test docs so there's not an issue with dup file names.

Any ideas? I'm so confused! Thanks!

Re: Change to read-only on submit problems (please disregard my earlier post)

thanks, but i guess i wasn't clear.

i mean that it doesn't show up in the form library.

i hit submit, it shows the success msg, then it either just sits there or says "this form is closed."

when i get back to the library, it's not there.

i have the submit option set that the form should close.

Re: Change to read-only on submit problems (please disregard my earlier post)

So you want to know once it has been submitted?

Create a field called submitted flag. Default it to false.

Add another rule to the submit button which sets it to true.

Then on form open you can check this value in a rule and act accordingly.

Change to read-only on submit problems (please disregard my earlier post)

Ok, I figured the whole change views on submit thing. That works fine - in the client when I do it through preview.

When I fill out the form and submit thru the Sharepoint site, it acts like it submitted (even giving me the success msg) but it doesn't. It's not in a different library either.

If I take away the rule that changes it to read only view, then it works fine. I've tried all sorts of variations on the rules, like having the "submit to data connection" be a rule etc.

I'm really at my wit's end here. Unfortunately, I'm not even an IT person and I know more about this stuff than the IT people. They don't know any more than I do! This is all really new to us and I'm the guinea pig!

Help!!!
