Hi,

Use the following expression instead of your expression.

count(../preceding-sibling::my: group20)+1

We are trying to generate auto number in a repeating table. The repeating table is known as "group 20" and we want to assign a IDNumber(field117) to each repeating row.

We have tried the formula

count(../preceding-sibling::field117)+1

We repeated get the error message that field117 is not a valid path or location. We are confounded by this syntex. Can anyone help, please!

group4 -> repeating section.

I see link. But it doesn't help me... I want auto number in repeating table inside repeating section example (1,2,3,4,5) this work o.k. When I add "insert item" (for repeating section) I would like 6,7,8 not 1,2,3,4...

Hai,

I have repeating table (with field1, default value =count(../preceding-sibling::my:Group2) + 1) inside repeating section.
I want to display an autogenerated row number. This is great until I insert new repeating section --> field1 set to 1.
