I believe you must have a picture to ink on and cannot just ink in the control.

Re: Does the Infopath Control support ink??

ajcat,

I'm having the exact same problem! Did you ever figure out how to make it work? I can ink in rich text field boxes but not in ink pictures (where you are really supposed to ink). Hopefully you can help me out because I've tried everything!

Re: Does the Infopath Control support ink??

Im using the infopath control in a vb.net widows application. Why even bother to make a control for an application that is made for inking and not allow it to ink?

Re: Does the Infopath Control support ink??

To my knowledge the ink support is just for the ink controls and is only supported on Tablet XP or Vista.

This means you can create a picture control which can be inked upon or a blank control for a signature or drawing.

Other controls could be used with the hand writing recognition to add text but would not support inking outside of the one ink control.

I am not sure if you are trying to do something different with code or host the form inside of another app or something. Ink may not be supported under these circumstances.

You should be able to create a new blank template to test.

Add a field and ink control and then preview and ink upon it with the stylus. By default it will be in ink mode when completing an InfoPath form but it can be switched to regular mode in the toolbar.

Hope that helps.

Does the Infopath Control support ink??

Im using vb2008,a tablet pc, and office 2007. I've added the infopath form control and made all referances and imports that I need. I load the xsn at runtime and it loads fine. I can't ink on the form, I'm able to use the Tablet Input Panel on all the fields and write using that but I can't write on the infopath form itself even in the ink boxes that are made for inking. I tried making an inkoverlay and pass the handle to the control but it crashes. Is there a way to turn on inking on the control?? If I open the template in infopath I have no problems inking. Any ideas?
