I believe that Preview responds differently to this.

One option is to call a function in your Loading code that does the figuring and assigning of a role. This way there is no question.

Default Role Superseding All Roles

I have several roles on my form which govern who sees what on the form. The default role is "Submitter", which is what everyone should see unless they are explicitly listed on one of the other roles. I tried testing this by leaving all of the roles empty, then adding myself to a role other than Submitter ("Voter"). When I preview the form, however, I see only what the Submitter is supposed to see. I put a button on the form to display the current role, and when I click it, I get Submitter even though the only role that has someone listed is Voter. I tested this with other roles, and I get the same result: Submitter supersedes all of them.

I'm sure I must be doing something wrong since it makes no sense for a default value to supersede all other values. I know that in the case of one user having multiple roles, InfoPath will only use the first one listed and ignore the rest, but my Submitter role is listed last under the user Roles, and so should (by my logic) be considered only after all other roles have been checked. I thought about having no default, but that seems to be impossible. Even if I delete the default role, the one next on the list gets set as default. Any ideas?
