I just opened one of the sample forms in design mode, and then used the Publish command. I said I wanted to publish it to a web server and entered the URL where the file would be stored. As soon as I clicked Next, I got the prompt for that rogue domain again (as before, this different domain is not part of the publish location or part of our travel intranet, as far as I know). Even though I have full access to this server, it will not let me save it directly. My login credentials do not work for this strange domain. If I click cancel from the login prompt, it just takes me back to the screen where I type the desired publish location.

So instead I chose to publish it to a network drive, and selected our development server (which is a mapped network drive). Then, on the following screen in Infopath, I entered the full URL of the form on the intranet as the access location for users. Then it said it had successfully published. I manually uploaded the form from the development server to production, and get the exact same error. Is there any way to tell the form to automatically ignore any login prompts?

Re: Multiple login prompts before form will open

The only other thing I can think of is that your web server is adding something.

Have you tried a publishing a sample form to the web site and see what happens with it? To see if it is related to the location or the specific form?

Re: Multiple login prompts before form will open

I opened the form in design mode and looked at the data connections. There are only two which are .xml files that are used to populate a drop-down menu of expenses, and another drop-down for payment types. There are no other connections.

The OS is XP. Also, every computer on the network has *.ourodmain.com listed as a site in the Intranet zone, which would include the site where the form is hosted so that shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Multiple login prompts before form will open

Hey Geoff, welcome to the forum.

You need to open the form in design mode and verify the data connections, especially the ones the load when the form opens. You may have one in here to the unknown URL which you are describing. It sounds like it does not matter to the form working anyway.

What is the client OS? There is a known issue with Vista not cacheing credentials properly but your case does not fit.

Your Intranet site URL should be in the Intranet security zone in IE for your users.

Let us know how that turns out.

Multiple login prompts before form will open

Hello all. I'm an extreme Infopath newbie... I tried searching for my issue a lot before posting, so I hope the answer isn't glaringly available. If so, my apologies in advance.

We recently developed an Infopath form for our travelers and put it on our web server (not Sharepoint, just our intranet). As long as the user is connected to our intranet site, they would have read access to the form and the associated XML files. When it was saved, the Publish location was the same as where the users access it.

Whenever someone clicks the link to the .xsn file on the intranet (via an http://ourintanet.com/formname.xsn link), InfoPath opens but then a login prompt is presented twice (and four times if the xsn file has been updated to a new version). It asks for a username and password, but the users normal network logins do not work. I don't even recognize the server it is trying to access (it's unknownwordhere.ourdomain.com when the form is stored on travel.ourdomain.com).

You can hit Cancel twice (or 4 times depending) to get rid of the prompt then the form displays normally. Is there a way I can keep this from happening? It is driving our users crazy. It was just rolled out and we have about 5000 people who will be using it, and I want to get this resolved before the you-know-what hits the fan big time.

Thanks for any help anyone has to offer.

Geoff
