I'll try to set up web service today. I'm using InfoPath 2003.

As to 2007 - username() rocks, maybe there will be SP3 for 2003 with such improvements :)

Re: AD... again

More specifically, the WhoAmI source is here:

Are you using InfoPath 2003 or InfoPath 2007?

In 2007, UserName is available in the OM as this.Application.User.UserName
In 2003 your options include either writing managed code to retrieve the user name or to create a WhoAmI webservice yourself, more on it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/05/26/608092.aspx

Let me know if this helps,

I designed a huge complex form which includes lot's of approval fields. Manager's approval, finance approval, etc...

So everything works fine like a clock. The problem is that yesterday manager asked me whether I could add additional functionality. He wants to

see login (or name-surname) of a person, who clicked "approve" on every stage. I said -whoa, no problem, brother... But there is a problem, sadly.

All users are an AD members of a single domain. No problem with it.

But can somebody simply tell me how to get current user's login (name would be better, but who cares) and send it to a field?

Can't use DBXL, because form is using.... MS Access (!sic) at the moment. And management won't pay for Qdabra AD service, because it's a matter of a single form (for now).

Thanks everybody!
