I agree the user roles never seem to quite behave the way they should.

Mmmmh. These User Roles don't seem to be very reliable. To fix my issue (some users working some not) I removed the group and added each user individualy and then re-published. All is now working although its going to be a pain to update the users now. All my users roles did were to show or hide a couple of text boxes.

My probelm still is if I add or remove anyone from a user role the update doesn't get translated to the form. I have saved and re-published each time. Does anyone know of another setting that needs to take place?

Hi I found conditional formatting not to be compatible with user roles when i tried so i used different views or combination of fields to make it work. To fully effect roles i seem to remember you have to re-publish, saving the template seems ineffectual. Cheers

It seems as though the inital setting of the user roles work but updating the rules does not.

I am having a problem with this too. I have created user roles and they seemed to be working. Then I went to add another person to one of the rules and it would not include the new person. I tried to remove of the persons from the role as well and that change did not seem to take either.

I also want to know if a user can be in more than one role?

I am trying to use user roles in conjunction with conditional formatting.

I need a little bit more clarification before I can say what is going on but I think that user roles only work once the form has been saved or submitted.

With that in mind I am guessing you have one role defined for Initiator and every time a new form is opened the initiator view starts. This is to be as expected, see above.

Could you let me know what roles you have defined and what rules are driving the change in view, which I presume is what you are using them for?

On looking at it further, I found that if I add the user to one of the user roles instead of putting them in the group that it fixed it? Yet if they are in the group it dosent work?!

Hi,

I have created a form that uses User Roles. For some reason some of the PC's (XP) in our company are not loading up the form to the correct user role. It is loading to a standard user. I have checked if the user is in the correct AD group and that the PC is logged on correctly and in the domain and all is ok. If i log into these PC's the same thing occurs, however if they log into my PC then the user roles work fine. Any idea?
