The best thing for you to do at this point is A) if you have form code, use the on load event to add those fields into the existing forms if they are not already present, or B) write a custom upgrade.xsl -- this is possible, but not exactly easy. There should be documenation on how to do this in the InfoPath SDK and possibly on the Microsoft site.

Good luck!

Form Versioning with IP 2003 SP2 and composite schema

I needed to update an IP 2003 form that was made with a IP. The underlying schema is the IP generated schema with an external schema embeded:

<myfields>

<ExternalSchema>

<FormWorkFlow>

<FormMetaData>

The form is already inproduction and I needed to make some changes to the form's workflow. I added some new fields. After making the changes I opend a form data file. The new field are their, but they are read only and don't contain the default values I established.

It looks like the form did not upgrade on the new version. I went into design mode and checked the on version upgrade and it was set to Do nothing. I went to change it to Automatically upgrade and the option was not available ("only do nothing" and "use custom event" were avaiable).

After creating soe test forms, it seems that if you add en external schema, the option to manually update goes away.

Is this supposed to be the case or is there a way to upgrade forms with composite schema?

Thanks,
