Then when you move the XML files between each you need to change the PI at the top of the XML to point to the XSN deployed on your intranet or other computer. The other method is to just install the XSN using regform on your secure laptop and the other computer and then the XML file should just open on the other computer unchanged as it uses the same URN pointer to the regform installed template.

For an easy way to quickly change the PI template pointer in your for you can use our Windows Explorer shell extension tool called Qdabra ModifyPI Tool for InfoPath: http://www.qdabra.com/proddetail.asp?prod=QModifyPI

Extranet forms, regform and editable instances

Regform.exe seems to sort a problem I have moving form xsn to/from a secure laptop. However, I still want to edit forms that are moved from a secure laptop (before submitting them), via usb stick thence cd, onto a LAN. So the reference to the template in the *.xml file must change to the LAN version of the template before the form data can be edited. A transform here would work but will require a utility to do this. Is there a utility under the SDK for this? Is there something I can to in the jscript (the form can detect whether it is running on a machine that is online)?
