Select rows in repeating section

I am looking for help on how to build the following infopath form. The form is based on the XMLinput.

Each item group node can have many item references. When Item references are created, they should be selected from the item definitions node.

+ Form Definitions

+ Item Groups definitions
    Group Name
    + Item references
       Itemid

+ Item definitions
Itemid

I created a form like

Item Groups List box - xxxxx ( one item group can selected)

Repeating section- Item definitions

          YYYY XXXX    (check box)
          ZZZZ AAAA    (check box).

The check box does exist in the item defintion. I add this control to select the rows. It is bound to one field that is not in form defintions node. When the rows in the repeating section are selected, they should be added to item referencec node under item group. I know that new rows can be added programatically. I want to know how to read the rows that are selected.
