SharePoint kind of stores forms in a database, but the Qdabra Database Accelerator (DBXL) stores them in the database and ALSO allows you to define a mapping between the XML and other relational tables so that you can shred the actual data into the SQL tables and then run reports on it later. This is the core feature, and then there are also other features such as locking, searching, and versioning that you can learn about on the product page: http://www.qdabra.com/products.aspx

So, does the FileNet application use a SQL database as it's storage medium? If so, you should be able to use DBXL to shred the forms into the database and use a mechanism on the client side to associate each form with the corresponding entity in FileNet.

Re: InfoPath and FileNet

How do you store InfoPath forms in a SQL table?

I know we store PDF's but they are digital

Re: InfoPath and FileNet

Hi oldradio99,

I have not used this specific application, so I don't think I'll be able to offer much help, but if it is backed by a database, you could just create a new table that stores the InfoPath forms, and then links to the ID of the corresponding rows in the FileNet tables.

InfoPath and FileNet

Here is truly a cross functional question.

Has anyone ever stored InfoPath forms in FileNet Imaging Systems?

We would rather store the forms with the other part of the client's file rather than keep separate in a SP library but we are concerned what will happen if the template gets moved or changed.
