You can have a rule on open that performs this function.

I am a bit confused by the submit and save. When you submit to SharePoint you are saving the form into the library. Do you mean to save it somewhere else? Or do you mean to lock the form from editing at some point? Either of these is simple to do.

Hope this gets you started. I could make a blog post on this but I think most of it has been covered before.

submit/save button

So I have a form that submits to a sharepoint library. This form has more then one person edit/looks at it and i want the submit button to turn into a save button once it is submitted.

so theres a couple of ways to do this, i see:

1. figure out what the form name is and create an overwrite data connection to overwrite the old form.

2. somehow code the botton to submit and then save?

I think the first one is probably the easiest, does anyone know how to figure out the name of a form in the onload event?

also, when a user submits the form it is tied to the now() function so its kinda unknown what the submit name is going to be.

Thanks
