VSTO 2005 SE does not support configurations where two different versions of Microsoft Office products are installed side by side, and it is known to not work properly in such configurations.

Turns out they were serious. After removing office 2003 completly and reinstalling office 2007 and VSTO my manifest file opens by itself when the project is opened

Re: Manifest.xsf is already open

Hi Nick,

Man, this sounds annoying. This is deifinitely not how things should be happening. What do you mean that it does not close the file correctly? It doesn't save it?

If all else fails, try reparing your VSTO installation and maybe Visual Studio itself.

Manifest.xsf is already open

Yesterday I started using Visual Studio 2005 and Infopath 2007 to design a form. Everything went fine, my projects created ok, I was able to do some design work and publish a test form.

However today when I went to continue my work my project opened but the manifest.xsf file wasnt open, so i tried to open it from the Solution Explorer, I got an error message saying "the file manifest.xsf is already open, do i want to close it." If I click no, nothing happens, If i click yes i get another error saying "invalid window handle" and then visual studio crashed, then if i try to re-open the project visual studio crashes straight away

As a test I created a new project, closed it straight away, then opened it. Exactly the same thing happened again.

As another test I created another new project, this time I closed manifest.xsf before closing the project. This allowed me to re-open the manifest.xsf without error

So Im guessing that when I close the project visual studio does not close the manifest file properly?

Can this be resolved? or do I have to accept that I have lost my work from yesterday and start again always closing the manifest file manually before i exit visual studio?
