I designed a browser enabled form using InfoPath 2007 in SharePoint 2007 as content type. When the user create a new form and submits it, I create a file name automatically by concatenating a string ["CR"] and the "Id" from the SharePoint list. The problem arises when a user creates a new form and submits it. It creates the file name and saves it but it keeps the file checked out. So before that user checks in that file manually, if any other user creates a new form and submits it, it throws out an error. This happens because the second form gets the same Id as the previous one as it has not got checked in. Am I doing anything wrong here?

What I do to prevent this? Do I need to write a code [how?] to check in the file automatically when the user hits submit button or is there any other way to accomplish this. Thanks.

Re: Checkin Form on MOSS Submit

Hi Jason,
In the past (WSS 2003), we've done this with code in the form. For a MOSS 2007 Doc Library, there may be a new feature as part of SharePoint workflow to enable this, but we haven't done much with that yet. If not, you can always use code.

Checkin Form on MOSS Submit

I have a form which is published to a MOSS 2007 Doc Library that has an approval process. I fill out the form and click submit and the form is saved properly with the correct name but it shows as checked out and I have to manually tell it to check in to start the approval process. Is there a way to set my form on the submit to have it automatically check the form in at the same time to start the approval process?

Thanks,

Jason
