I also thought you could just upload via the web UI. Try publishing through the InfoPath publish wizard. When uploading my form to sharepoint via the admin panel I get a message indicating that I need to use the "Deploy method". I am a bit confussed about this as I have upload the same form 2 other times without this method, now all of a sudden it requests that I call a special method. Very strange.
