So, as I mentioned, the issue is with this data string - "ST/BL/CV/EL". There is no easy way in InfoPath to match that to the values like "CV", "EL" and so on in your email list. However, if they are unique, we could maybe use contains. I'm worried about a false positive with contains, like if you had a group named "ST" and another named "BST" or something. At any rate, I've attached a simple sample - pick a value from the second dropdown and the field below should show the emails.

Re: How to convert separated values in string field to a people/group or string filed with separated emails

I mean for example I have 3 fields in my InfoPath from.

Field 1: (Doc No)
Field 2: (Distribution matrix)
Field3: (Emails)

And I have 2 lists:

List 1 contain (Doc No, Distribution matrix) field and each unique Doc No I have a value for Distribution matrix field for example for (“Doc-0001) I have value (”ST/BL/CV/EL”) in filed 2.

In list 2 contains 2 fields (Department, Email) for each unique Department I have an Email for example Department “CV” email is (CV@gmail.com)

Now I would like in InfoPath If value of (field 1=” Doc-0001”) and value of (field 2=”ST/BL/CV/EL”) now in field 3 InfoPath with connection to the Email list (Secondary Data Source) automatically will assign value (Field3=st@gmail.com;bl@gmail.com;cv@gmail.com,EL@gmail.com)

Re: How to convert separated values in string field to a people/group or string filed with separated emails

So - I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. The user selects a Doc No in a dropdown. Based on the slash delimited distribution matrix value, you need to get the emails back from the emails list? This may be pretty tricky - because there isn't anything built into InfoPath to separate those values in the distribution matrix column to figure out which emails apply.

How to convert separated values in string field to a people/group or string filed with separated emails

Hello

In my InfoPath form I have 2 secondary data source (according to attachments) the first one is connected to a list with two field (Doc No, Distribution Matrix) and second list contains of emails for each delimited value of distribution matrix. I would like model distribution matrix field values to multiple emails in a string or people group field in InfoPath, actually after selecting a Doc No by drop down control it automatically shows the list of emails in another control instead of showing separated string values in string field control.
