I set the data connection to not query on load. If I set the account field to the value returned by the userName function - which includes the claims prefix - and then run the query, my data is returned. I'm guessing the data populated would depend on your environment.... and I also would think that the user information list may only have users that have logged into the site where you are pulling the data. So that could be a limitation. I'd guess that the account id in the person picker group will be what you'll need to set the Account field to prior to running your query.

Infopath 2013 & SharePoint Online

Good afternoon,

We are migrating our InfoPath 2010/SharePoint 2010 into SharePoint online.

The 'list' forms in 2010 use the UserProfileService, which is not available to use online because of the loop back issue.

There is my problem. I have a form which has a people picker, and I have set up a rule that populates that box, and the email, telephone fields using the User Information List. What I need to be able to do, is using a 'button' to refresh the data, so if a user completes the list form on behalf of another person, they can select their name from the people picker, click the button and that users details are populated and not those of the current logged on user.

Please can someone let me know if this is possible with the UIL - and if so, how do I create the rule to do this.

Any help would be very gratefully received.
