As far as the repeating group, the above cascade dropdown filter down the items in the repeating table below. So I need a way to have the selection of the first group and if it is not empty or if they change category to not clear or hide something that is already filled out, but continue to filter down the line to the individual line items.

Re: Cascading Dropdown issue

Without seeing the form with the XML resource file I can't begin to guess. Have you opened the XML in a text editor and searched for "#N/A"? I think in another post, you talked about creating this XML from Excel - #N/A is a common error in Excel, like when a VLOOKUP doesn't return a value. In the last version of the form I looked at, your cascading dropdowns weren't in a repeating group. Has that changed?

Re: Cascading Dropdown issue

I dont understand how to tell it to not include something that is not in the XML. I don't understand this: "If I have it pointing to the sharepoint library it will not pull the data" - I don't know what that means. If your data connection is setup to use a resource file from the form, the resource file must be present in the form for there to be data. As I mentioned before, I only had you remove those so you could attach the form template to your post, because the extremely large XML files are making your form very large too.

Re: Cascading Dropdown issue

The other thing that is weird is that I cannot use the cascading dropdowns if the resource file is not attached to the form. I had gone back to my rules to clear the cascading history and saw that in the sub group i had this . Just a period, when I removed it nothing would populate the dropdown. If I put it back i got the previous selection but all of the rest of the selections.

I have no idea how i put a period in that ......but why would that work and not the filter i have in place??

Here is the form with the period in the BG field filter

Re: Cascading Dropdown issue

OK I changed out the top dropdown for option buttons and the first dropdown works but the second one isnt can you take a look please. the details are not filling in on the Additional Details dropdown.
