Here's what I'd do - I'd put the query & data fields for the list on the form, temporarily. And I'd add a button that queries the list. Then you can preview the form, and experiment with that you need to enter to get back the right data. You may need to query the data without any values in the query fields to see what the data looks like when returned, and then copy a value out, put it in the query field, execute the query & see what happens. :)

data format not recognized

so I have a form that has a data connection to a list that is queried when the data is needed. the issue has occurred both with query at open and when needed. the issue that I have is when I have a field in the form that is formatted as a number and I am querying a field in another list that is a formatted at a number the data does not match which then invalidates a rule that I have when x = y then do z. but for some reason when x is a number and y is a number it wont see them as the same value even though for example x=10 and y=10. its not until I format the list column that has y to a text value that then x does equal y and there for z happens. but I cant have that column formatted as text since I need to sort by that column and since number stored as text wont sort correctly.....

if anyone has some input as to why this might be happening or a work around it would be greatly appreciated.
