But I think you answered my question. I see you used the rule: count(preceding-sibling::my:group2) + 1 &gt; ../../my:field1 , and formatting hide this section - on the repeating sections to get them to show. I think this is the secret I needed to know. And of course as well to create the default views I need... I guess I will have to stick with a limited amount which is ok. Thanks alot Hilary. I will try it soon and see if it works out - and let you know.

I have another problem and Im not sure if I should make a new post - but I want to submit the form and email a PDF attachment - I have search around a lot and I&#39;m not sure this is even possible (for free) - I dont want to bother you with the details, but is there anywhere you can point me to get a grasp of this. If it is coding necessary then where should I start to at least get the basics understood?

Thanks again, Taylor

Re: Help with repeating sections.

<p>I think when you talk about hiding unused sections, you may not be thinking of repeating sections. The only way to have multiple instances of a repeating group (by the way, the data structure for repeating sections &amp; tables is the exact same in IP - both are bound to repeating groups) without using code is to insert the max number of instances you need by default, then hide the instances you don&#39;t need. This is easier to show than explain, so I&#39;ve attached a simple sample form. Save the linked form locally, right click and select Design, then you can preview it.</p>

Help with repeating sections.

Hi There, Im new here, new to infopath. My form is almost complete but I main things I would like to figure out still, which seem a bit more complicated. The first one is that I would like infopath to dynamically add repeating sections for different days that the user would add in hours worked information. I figured out how to calculate the amount of days by choosing the start date and end date, ie. if worked for the 25-31 then it calculates that that is 6 days. Then I would like 6 repeating sections to open, one for each day.

In those day sections are repeating tables for the amount of guys who worked on that day, but I got that part going... I&#39;ve seen this kind of question before, but I wanted to make clear that this is for the repeating SECTIONS and not repeating TABLES.

I could do this by creating a number of sections and hiding them, but I rather not, and there would be a limit to how many days I could do this way, ie. 2 weeks worth. Also Id rather not to have to recreate all those fields if I dont have to.
