In the sample, there is a field called DocsComplete that has a formula to check if docs have been added, so you could have a rule on your submit button to check that all instances of DocsComplete are true (for example) allow submit.... Does data get entered into the RepSecIndividual if the legal status is NOT individual? You may need to add another helper field to the section that is filled out if the legal status is company, then check multiple conditions.

Re: Validate Repeating Section Column/Row

Hi me again,

1. How could I replicate this when I might have several variants of required documents. i.e. depending on result of another field's entry.

For example, I've a legal status drop down, 1 set of documents are required if the legal status is an individual and another set of documents will be required if the legal status is a company. I've thought about adding multiple extra fields to the repeating section.

2.Can the validation rule be put onto a button which is not on the repeating table i.e. a rule on a submit button ?

Thanks

W

Re: Validate Repeating Section Column/Row

Hilary,

That's brilliant, thanks very much.

W

Re: Validate Repeating Section Column/Row

So - this is the type of thing where I think it is helpful to go ahead and add another field in your repeating data source. I've done that in ResSecIndividual with a default value that should return true if all three items are present for a person. Then you can just check to be sure all instances of this helper field are equal to true as well as use it for formatting if you want to highlight the people who don't have completed docs.

Re: Validate Repeating Section Column/Row

Thanks Hilary,

Holiday yesterday. I started to create one but realized I had too many questions. :)

Validate Repeating Section Column/Row

InfoPathers - long time no speak.

All, I have a repeating table with 2 columns.

The first column gets its data from another repeating table on the form and is a drop down list of unique values. i.e. Names.

The second column is a list of document types. - passport, driving licence, birth certificate

If a field outside of either repeating table is set to high.

How can I make sure that each Name has a passport, driving licence, birth certificate against it?

Thanks

W
