The Image URL is pulled into the form via a secondary data connection to an Announcements list. The actual images are stored also in SharePoint in the Site Assets library on the same site.

Thanks a million!

Re: Problems rendering Email in Outlook from InfoPath Form Email Data Connection

So - the image URL is in the Announcements library? Where are the pictures themselves stored? I've never tried this, but it appears the Imaging web service has a Download method that returns files in base64.... which is also how InfoPath stores files. That may be worth at least investigating?

Problems rendering Email in Outlook from InfoPath Form Email Data Connection

Hi everyone!

I hope that this is not a unique scenario and that someone has the answer!

So, I was thinking of using an InfoPath Web Form that is published to a Form Library in SharePoint Online to delivery a daily newsletter all of our staff. We currently use a 3rd party app in Office 365 to do this, but the app is flaky, unsupported and does not always send out the daily email. The daily email is to include new Announcements and upcoming Events and sign-up opportunities for staff.

I can get the form to send the email just fine. No problems there. The issue seems to be that the icon/image for each announcement in the email does not display unless you click on them individually. Could I find a way to get the images from this secondary data source repeating table to store the images in the form (instead of using the URL to the image). I think that somehow there needs to be a static view of this table. Is the data connection to get the data for the Announcements repeating table being run for each email recipient? I don't want that. I just want to run the data connection when I generate the form before I send it out by email through the send email data connection.

The attached image shows what the form looks like after it is sent as an email and viewed in Outlook. When viewing this form in SharePoint Online, it renders correctly.
