I have seen this error with regards to the connection between SharePoint and your local desktop. The first think you might want to do is add the site to your local intranet. For this, navigate to your Internet Explore Internet options > security > Local intranet > Advanced > add and enter the SharePoint site.

Sometimes you must open up the connection from SharePoint to your local desktop. To o this, you can either click the customize button on a list, or go to a form library, select library settings > advanced setting > edit template. Once the form opens in InfoPath you do not have to save or publish back out. Simply go to the form you wish to publish and walk through he publishing steps.

Hope that helps!
Bre

SharePoint External Content type error...

Hi All,

I have created an external content type in SharePoint, and the InfoPath form to interact with that external list.

I have then edited the template.xsn to change some of the formatting. - I have added a couple of fields for some calculations, and an xml file for some lookups. + lots of colour for conditional formatting.

Because this process took a couple of days I did a save as, and saved it on my laptop. Now I have come to publish and I have had a number of errors... the first being the "control binding error" which I fixed by following Hilary's excellent post.

Now I am getting The remote server returned an error :(401) Unauthorized.

Any ideas please... or do I need to start from scratch again?

Thank you

Catharine
