I didn't know this feature and this explain a lot about skills on Infopath ^^

I understood that i can create elements into a group ( for example Approvers ). How i can condition the using of buttons with the users declared into the group Approvers ?

Hope that i'm following correctly your solution.

thx :)

Re: One form and some permissions

Hello davdav,

The scenario you are describing is a forms based workflow. In order to control the permissions you will probably need a few "FormLogic" fields in your form. I generally create a group in the Main DS so that my helper/logic fields are separate from the information I am capturing. By capturing a status and the user name after each step or submit, you can limit the permissions of each section.

This is also helpful if you have the fields within a section on the form that you can add formatting rules to. The formatting rules will leverage the values from your helper fields.

Let me know if you need more details!
Bre

One form and some permissions

Hi all, it's my first post, regards to everybody.

I'm doing a small form for the approval of the hardware assignments.

Actually the I set up this flow : user ( asks ) -> approver1 ( approves or denies user's request )-> approver2 ( approves or denies approver1' request )-> approver3 ( approves or denies approver2 ) .

The form is based on mails ( buttoms to deliver approvation mail to next step and wastes to previous step ) so i'll expect that for the complete approval, the module will travel by mail to every actor.

I would ask you, if is possible to deny the modifiy of

the fields written by the "approver1" to "user" "approver2" and "approver3"

and

the fields written by the of "approver2" to "approver3"

In other words i want to lock the content of every step to seletioned users. Unfortunately I can't use Sharepoint.

Thanks for any suggestions !
