Extract Repeating Table data from xml forms for exporting

Hi, we are winding it down with InfoPath. Microsoft has given my organization until the end of the year to redevelop everything InfoPath into the Power Platform. I am down to my last form which contains several repeating tables. I need a solution to extract the repeating table data from the xml forms so it can be exported and then imported into a SharePoint list. I have seen options to create a workflow in SharePoint Designer and another to use Excel Power Query. Anyone have any links they can share to walk me thru the process? Thank you,

2 Sections visibility with Rules

I have a form with 2 sections, containing hidden signatures of approvers. When manager1 approves, it should show signature1 - same for manager2 respectively. Of course either signature should only be visible when the whole form has been approved. How can I achieve this with formatting rules?

Parallel Blocks in SD 2013, please help!!

Good afternoon, I was wondering if you could help me with a workflow that utilizes a parallel block for multi- person approvals/ rejections. I'm not sure how to go about setting this up in SD 2013 but my workflow goes something like this, Step: MANAGER APPROVAL If Current Item:Document_Type equals FMI Procedure Set Status to Pending Manager Review Email Vinson, James; Owen, Belinda; Marange, Luke The following actions will run in parallel: Step: Managers Approval for Review If Current Item:Owen Approval equals Reviewed and Current Item:VINSON_APPROVAL equals Reviewed and Current Item:MARANGE_APPROVAL equals Reviewed Set Status to Pending Director Review Email Dexter, Jaimee Step: Managers Reject Review If Current Item:Owen Approval equals Rejected or Current Item:MARANGE_APPROVAL equals Rejected or Current Item:VINSON_APPROVAL equals Rejected Set Status to Edits Requested Email Current Item:Created By So basically, in parallel it is waiting for those 3 fields to all equal Reviewed once that happens it will change the status to Director review and email me? Do I have to tell it to wait for all three, or is the block basically telling it within this step all three need to equal this before carrying on? And the condition below is if any of them equal Rejected (not all) then it is sent back. Does this look correct? I can't seem to get it to work.... At what point, and how do I transition out of the parallel block? All I need is for the approvals/ rejections of the 3 managers to happen at the same time and not have to wait for a sequential order.

Unable to publish form - the url xxx is invalid

Infopath designer 2013 (15.0.4763.1000)
SP2010 and SPSE (same behavior on both environments)

Steps to reproduce
1) Open Infopath
2) Create empty formular
3) Files -> publish to "SharePoint server"
4) Save the formular locally on pc
5) Enter url to SharePoint site
6) Infopath gives the error "The url xxxx is invalid"

It is the same url that I without problems can open an existing form with or make a dataconnection to.

Fiddler trace show this when publishing:

/vti_bin/shtml.dll/_vti_rpc
/vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.dll
/
And then the error shows.

The environment does not have internet access.

If I try on another environment with internet access I can publish and get this fiddler trace.

/_vti_bin/webs.asmx
and then a list selector shows in infopath.

It has been possible to publish the forms earlier (without internet access) but i do not know when or what changes since it stopped. I dont really think the internet access is the problem.

I do have a site and permissions at the rootlevel.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Order of controls and rules

I am comparing data in a few fields, two of which are percent and dollars. I am comparing these fields to a secondary connection value that appears on my form as hints. Let's say 10% appears in the percent field and $200 in the dollars field as hints. On a changeable percent box, I want to change a text status to invalid if the main form entry percent field is greater than 10. Next, I want to say "Invalid dollars" if less than 200 for the fillable dollar field. If I move top down, entering the percent first and the dollar second, everything works fine. If I pull a switcharoo and change my mind, going backwards and re-changing the percent to a valid amount, my text status doesn't change. In short, top down and done, works every time. Bottom up or switching aroundback and forth with the order doesn't fire the rule on the percent field again. Sorry for this confusing explanation. Secondary Connection: Percent - Shows as a hint Secondary Connection: Dollars - Shows as a hint Main Form Fillable field: Percent Entered Rule1 on this field sets the text of Text Status If > 10 then Invalid Alternate If >=10 then Valid Main Form Fillable field: Dollars Entered Rule2 on this field sets the text of Text Status If =200 then Valid Main Form viewable but not fillable: Text Status. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you!

Workflow is emailing multiple people- need multiple approvals before proceeding

I have built a procedure review form that (per the workflow) is sent to email 4 individuals when the initial review is submitted. How would I go about making sure that all 4 people have reviewed the procedure, and the workflow can continue on to the Director for approval? Im lost on how I could manipulate that on either the workflow or the InfoPath form?

Overriding Permissions in SharePoint designer vs. InfoPath button?

I am trying to restrict the person selected in my form is the only person that is allowed to approve or reject. Basically wanting to format the button to allow my field InfoPath (person) to be able to run the actions on the button on individual views. As it stands now anyone is able to “approve” the task, however only the person named will get the email for the request. I’ve played around with it and seem to format the button with conditions, but it isn’t submitting the information. I’ve also worked it into the workflow (see below). Do I need to add it within the workflow, or is it just a format on my button on each view? I've gone down the path of using my workflow to set permissions based on fields in my form. Why isn't it working?? I started in Impersonation step and my conditions and rules look like below; If Current Item:SPEC_REVIEW_APPROVAL is empty value Replace Read, View Only, Full Control of item in this list I'm replacing the group to View only/ Read that isn't allowed to approve, and granting full control back to the manager group. Can someone please help me out? Should I continue down this path, or somehow utilize my approve buttons to restrict who can run the button rules. Thank you

New field not populating in Sharepoint

I had a textbox that had a text type as the data, but it should've been number type data. I created a new field as a Number type textbox. I have a rule that populates data in the new number type text box. but when I published the form and users inputted data it did not transfer to the SharePoint. I editted the form, renamed the fields, I changed the text type field name, and then the number type textbox field to match the old texttype it was replacing and when I published the form there was an error of duplicate columns. Unsure how to have the new text box populate into the column that was already in the sharepoint site. Thanks

Send Mail Based on Conditions and Update Options Under Title in Drop Down Menu

Hello @Hilary-Stoupa, In the attached form, we have designed a product delivery form that involves multiple departments. We need to implement the following special rules: Department Responsibilities: Department A is responsible for mobile phones. Department B is responsible for laptops. Department C is responsible for tablets. Email Notifications: When the form filler selects "Mobile Phone" in the Equipment Information field, enters the Model and Serial No, and chooses a delivery status, the form should be emailed to the designated recipients in Department A. Similarly, if "Laptop" is selected and a delivery status is chosen after entering the information, an email should be sent to the designated recipients in Department B. If the delivery status changes, an email should be sent when the save button is pressed, corresponding to each selected delivery status. Dynamic Information: When a product is selected from the drop-down list under "Equipment Information", the titles and details in the three rows below should automatically update according to the selected product. Could you please assist us in ensuring that the form functions as intended? If the form does not meet our needs, could you provide a sample form and offer advice on how to modify it? Thank you!

Upload a old form to a new share point site

I’m getting a 404 error on an old site. Instead having to rebuild a whole new form is there a way to upload an old form onto a new list site. I’ve tried but regularly get an error. And also the option to customize form is grayed out can only select use default form. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Infopath behaviour changes - SP2013 Libraries

We have multiple forms that have been published and working for a number of years in our SP2013 farm. we're slowly working them out of SP2013/Infopath but for those we have not completed, we're starting to fight with behavior changes. The most notable is related to opening forms (new) to a system (after a form cache has been cleared, or a new user) where the template is shown as Access Denied. The specific error reads: Infopath cannot open a new form. The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer. The Details show Form template: [location to file] Access is denied. we're trying to narrow this down in a way that allows us to understand where the error is coming from. we've tried moving the template/form to a local path and see similar behavior. The only things I can assume is involved is the shifts away from IE and use of IE mode with Edge, but I don't have proof this is the case. I've messed around with trusted locations and settings in the forms, but I'm not finding much to point me in any specific direction. I'm curious if anyone else is seeing/experience similar behavior or if you might have any suggestions on what to look at. Everything I've checked tells me it's not a permissions issue. But infopath continues to tell me access is denied. Appreciate any help you can offer.

Broken HTTP References in Infopath forms

Hi everyone. We have a Sharepoint 2013 server with 45 infopath forms living in Sharepoint libraries as template forms (create, view and edit list data) I'm concerned about an upcoming SSL certificate installation on Sharepoint because I suspect that infopath forms will be broken after SSL installation (http to https). Do you think all references to internal http data connections will be broken? Or it will be updated automatically? So I would like to know if there is some way to avoid update each infopath form one by one. Thanks for reading.

Calculating number Days using today()/now()

I'm trying to create a formula that is today - "assigned date" to return the number of days from assigned to today. from my understanding I should be able to use the formula "translate(now(), "-", "") - translate(AssignedDate, "-", "")" but I keep getting a "nan" error. what am I doing wrong? is it possible to do this in infopath?

Problem attaching multiple files with file attachment feature

Hello @Hilary-Stoupa, When I create a new form using "InfoPath Designer 2013 > New > SharePoint List" and add files using File Attachment, I can attach multiple files one under the other. When I create a new form using "InfoPath Designer 2013 > New > Blank Form" and want to add a file using File Attachment, I cannot add more than one file, I can only add one file at a time. Sample files are attached. Can you help me to add multiple files with blank form?

InfoPath and SPD 2013 workflow to modify task approval screen

Is there a tutorial available for modifying task approval screen in InfoPath when using SPD 2013 workflow? I can't seem to find it anywhere on Google or YouTube. There are other tutorials available but not this one. Let's say there is a workflow which goes to line manager for approval. I want to design line manager approval screen in InfoPath. Secondly, as you know InfoPath EOL is July 14, 2026. What will happen after that? Will existing forms continue to work and no new update/patch will come OR existing forms will stop working all of a sudden?

Repeating Table - Calculate Total

I have a InfoPath 2013 Form that has a repeating table. The repeating table pulls information from a secondary data source. The customer access the form and selects a category - which filters the repeating tables nomenclature to items in that category. If the nomenclature selected in the form matches the secondary data nomenclature then the Unit or Measure, ID and Cost populates the default value from the secondary data source. Then the customer inputs the qty they would like of that item - at that time the total cost will calculate to cost * qty. I am trying to add a footer that shows the sum of the repeating tables total cost but the formula sum(my:TOTAL_COST) is not working.

Making conditional choice in the form

Dear @Hilary-Stoupa, Attaching files should be mandatory when one of the A1 and D4 options is selected in the System Selection section. It should not be mandatory when one of the B2 and C3 options is selected. Another issue is that when the user selects A1 from the System Selection section, module selection should be mandatory in the company info section. Can you help me on these issues?

Email format and limitations of some fields

Hello, Email fields must be written in accordance with the format. "Tax number" must contain only numbers and not exceed 10 characters. "Identification Number" must contain only numbers, not exceeding 11 characters. Also, can we add a second attachment button? I would be very happy if you could help me with the issues I mentioned.

InfoPath Validation condition not working for today's date.

Hello, I have an InfoPath form with 2 Date and Time columns, named Created and Target Implement Date. The request is to make the form accept a submission with a Target Implement Date greater than or equal to today. Currently only future dates are allowed. Creating a Validation Rule Condition of Target Implement Date is less than now() but this does not allow us to choose today. This works for limiting to future dates, but if we pick today's date, the form fails to submit with the following error: "One or more fields have invalid values and cannot be submitted to the list." Fix My coworker found the fix of removing a rule in the Validation Setting in the list itself.

Re-publish InfoPath form to a new location

I am trying to re-publish an InfoPath form to a new list location. I am hoping to reuse the existing form and hate to re-create a new form. I tried to go to File-> Publish, but couldn't see "Change Location" button. It only gives me option to re-publish it again to the same location. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Multiple Selection List Box bound to a Secondary Data Source - possible?

Hi, I have added a "multiple selection list box" control to my form and bound it to an element in a secondary data source (local XML). For some reason, when previewing the form, I am not able to change the state of the checkboxes. Is this a limitation with secondary data sources? Text box controls bound to elements in the secondary data source can be used without problems. Any advice appreciated! Thanks, Matts
