Thanks, Hilary, for answering.

I kinda thought it was going to be beyond the reach of OOB. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like qRules, the organization is too strict with its private WAN to add it.

I'll find another way.

If you need to keep your original data and also allow for edits, you likely will need code or qRules to create copies of the data in another repeating group in the main data source - how many fields are there that the Review Team can edit? If there are only a few, you may be able to just add more fields to your original repeating group.... But it really sounds like you need 3 disparate tables.

Re: Create an additional control on a different view each time a repeating section is repeated on an earlier view.

Don,

Sorry for the delay.

The client came back with enough updates so that the logic changed. In the end, though, this problem still exists...just in a different way.

The requirement is for the form to have multiple audiences: Losing Office Team, Gaining Office Team, Review Team.

The Losing Org Team should be able to edit the Losing Org Info view and see a read-only view of the Gaining Org Info. The Gaining Org should be able to edit the Gaining Org Info view and see a read-only view of the Losing Org Info. The Review Team should be able to see a view which shows all the info, both the Losing Org's and the Gaining Org's.

Here's the part I can't figure out: The view for the Review Team needs to be editable without the edits affecting the data entered by the Losing Team or the Gaining Team...almost like making an independent copy of all the LO and GO controls and data but having them not linked to the controls on the original LO or GO views.

Any suggestions?

Re: Create an additional control on a different view each time a repeating section is repeated on an earlier view.

Hi rlntel,

You may use a count(row) formula for counting the number of existing rows (where row is the repeating group). As for the additional control, could you explain it a bit further? Or simply attach a copy of your form so I could get a clearer idea.

Create an additional control on a different view each time a repeating section is repeated on an earlier view.

I have a form with multiple views. On view2 of the form a repeating section contains sections with tables. The first section holds a dropdown control.

View3 of the form shows a textbox which displays the option chosen from the dropdown on view2.

I need to know how to set up view3 so that if the user repeats the section on view2 and chooses a different option from the dropdown then an additional control appears on view3 for the repeated dropdown.

thanks
