The only solution I found to remedy this was to change all rich text boxes postback settings to "never" as well as the repeating table/section. This seems to work but is not ideal because the form will not update until the user clicks on another control that will then update the postback settings.

Could someone explain how to do a full Farm reboot? Also how do I set the compatibility view?

The white space was appearing on every browser my users had, Internet explorer, chrome, and safari.

Thanks!

Re: Rich Text Box Browser Form: getting lots of random white space

I tested some users on IE10 in CV, with no success. So we too the decision to perform a full Farm reboot, as this issue was becoming business critical. The reboot to both App and WFE servers seems to have corrected the problem, although it would be good to see if anyone else has experienced the problem and what solutions they came across.

Re: Rich Text Box Browser Form: getting lots of random white space

Hi Hilary,

Thanks for your reply, we have a number of versions of IE within our business (legacy systems that require older versions to blame), but most are IE10. I personally am running IE11 already in Compatibility View. We seem to be seeing the issue with IE9/10 users, will test CV with some of these users are report back.

Re: Rich Text Box Browser Form: getting lots of random white space

Hi - I don't know if this will help at all, but I saw an issue with Rich Text in browser forms on Office 365 only with IE 11. Adding the site to the Compatibility View settings resolved it.... may be worth a try? I realize if you have a kajillion users this isn't a great solution, but you could easily test and see if it resolved the issue.

Re: Rich Text Box Browser Form: getting lots of random white space

I'm currently have the same issue with a number of browser based forms created in IP2013, having disabled the Enhanced Rich text option on the control. I have looked through the forums and not found an answer to this, so sorry if I didn't notice it elsewhere.

In my web form, I have a repeating section with two rich text boxes side by side. These are inside another non-repeartng section so that the control can be hidden/unhidden using rules with a checkbox. Some users have had some strange behavior with these rich text boxes. When they enter text in one of the rich text boxes then click on another control in the form the form adds a lot of blank spaces under the text they entered. Basically the rtb gets bigger and bigger vertically.

I have tried to fix this by setting a rule to the rtb that says "if fieldxx is not blank normalize-space(.) Also tried a few other normalize space rules but with no luck.

Can anyone help me? I GREATLY appreciate it.
