Default location for SharePoint 2010 is c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\LOGS

Couldn't find the log file. but we ran the vb code withou the text file write and it worked. I looked in both servers for the logs. Thanks

Did you find the actual error message in the trace log? The error message may help you figure out the issue with your code. Or help me help you.

It had something to do with the vb code writing to a text file.

You'll have to go into Central Admin and find out where they are. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee748619(v=office.14).aspx

We can't view our log files are know where the are at. I've tried to locate them on %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS\.

Is there a location in the server that I'm not looking at? Thanks Hilary

Have you checked your SharePoint trace logs for the correlation ID? You'll find more information on what has gone wrong there, I imagine...

InfoPath 2010 Custom VB Code Error Log ID:5337

We have added custom code VB code to a button in InfoPath. We were able to go through all the steps of having a Code Signing Certificate, uploading the template to the site collection. We are able to view the form just fine. When we press the button to run the code this error comes up.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

Log ID:5337

Correlation ID:9de9ba40-a15c-485e-beef-ab80e5fbc119

The VB code we have in there writes to a .txt file on the SharePoint site using the InfoPath datatypes.

Is there a problem with the code? Here is what the microsoft say http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee513128(v=office.14).aspx
