Textbox and Rich Textbox Issues on Browser Form

I got 2 issues on an InfoPath browser form created with InfoPath 2010 for MOSS 2010

1. I have 2 RichText Boxes on the form. Both are required. Issue is that some users have reported that the 1st rich textbox automatically gets cleared out on submit. Its an intermittent issue - only happens about 4% of the time. There are no submit rules to clear out anything. It just happens.

Initially I had the postback settings on both richtext boxes set to Never. I changed them to Always. After that I noticed another intermittent issue which is after filling out RTextbox1 and tabbing to RTextbox2 the 1st text box would clear out on its own.

All users have IE8. Not sure if this is an issue with IE8. I also have IE10 available to me. I tried the form with IE10 multiple times and couldnt really duplicate the issue then. Again, I am stumped. Hopefully it's just an IE8 problem.

2. Second issue is regarding plain text boxes with multiline enabled. Since the issue with rich texboxes occured I tried changing them to plain text and enabled multiline but what I noticed is that you can enter as many characters as you want into the form but after you submit it, only 255 characters show up on SharePoint. Is there a limit? Is there any way to change this? I dont have the character limit enabled on the controls.
