You can take the correlation ID and search the SharePoint logs for more detailed error information. You can also turn on verbose logging and use ULS Viewer or a tool like it to see the error in real time. That spelunking, however, will require access to the SharePoint server.

Here's another idea: why are you using InfoPath to email from the browser? Remove that and use a SharePoint workflow to email. It's far simpler and does not require special features (Exchange) be enabled on the server.

Happy trails,

Re: Email button not working

All, I was able to create another view with only a couple of fields and the email submit button. it emailed successfully from the browser. Hence, the error message is accurate, there is something wrong with the primary view.

I'm a a bit of newbie, how do I track down what the error in the view might be? again, when I use the preview function while in design mode the email is sent with no errors.

Email button not working

hey All,

I have created a browser-based for with two buttons. button A uses rules to submit the form to a form library on SP 2010. Button B is a submit button that uses an email submit.

when I use the preview function in infopath 2010 designer, both buttons work just fine. When I publish the form, the rules-based button saves the form to the library with no errors. The email button fails with an error:

The form cannot be
submitted because of an error.

Click OK to resume filling out the form.
You may want to check your form data for errors.

Hide error details

The form cannot be submitted
because the form view contains errors. For more information, contact the site
administrator.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

Log ID:5567

Correlation
ID:34b1404b-a409-4ed3-8581-f321a1d6f537

because of our IT structure, submitting the correlation ID for analysis is a lengthy process. i was hoping someone may have an idea of why the email button would work in preview but not after being published.
