Do you know anyway to do it with just the 2 fields instead of 4?

I attached a screen shot that has the 2 fields highlighted. I assumed I was just not getting my rules right it seems like a simple request to enter something in one or the other field but not both.

Rhanks

Re: Field Validation - How to fill our one field or the other but not both

Hi-

I'm attaching a form showing one way of doing this: by giving the user the option to choose.

Download the XSN and open it in Design mode.

Hope it helps!

Field Validation - How to fill our one field or the other but not both

I have 2 fields - one is a text field another is a check box. The user should be able to enter text in either one but not both. So if they enter test in the 1st one then the 2nd one should not allow them to enter and vise versa

Anyone have any idea on how to set a rule for that? When I tried to set a rule that looked at one or the other if it was blank or not blank I ended up making it so you could not enter anythig ein either.

Any suggestions would be great.
