I know this is an old post but I am having this issue and cannot find a solution. I am using O365 with SharePoint 2013 and I have the library set to open in filler, not browser. The new button works fine. When I put in a direct link, like the original poster with out the open command, I get the error found below:

I asked about download because here is simultaneously a thread

When opening an XML file one user gets a "downloading message" and all other users the file loads right away

where "download" is described as delayed or one of stages of slow opening a form (.XML file)

Aren't your descriptions self-contradicting?

Save or open option? template (which is .xsn file) or form (which is .xml file)?

Could you include template (through tab Options of post) as well as post a screenshot and step-by-step description what and how you are doing in order to reproduce your problem?

If you remove the &OpenIn=Browser part from that URL, I believe it should open the form in InfoPath.

I want to give the user click here and it opens the form not in browser but in info path. I need help.

I know about this http://<servername>/_layouts/formserver.aspx?XsnLocation=/FormServerTemplates/<template published>.xsn&OpenIn=Browser and it opens in browser. I am using filter for dropdown which is not supported by web browser form. I am not programmer to do that in programming
