What you are running into is one of the limitations of SharePoint - the repeating data from your XML form can only be shown in the ways that you mentioned - if they are interger fields you can do some additional numeric functions (like total).

What you need to do is to get that repeating data into a database so you can do the reporting on repeating data. Since you are using a browser form the only way to get that data into a DB is going to be by using a web service to act as a middle layer between the form and the DB. The form will get saved in SharePoint like it normally does but you will add a step to submit to the web service.

You can write your own web service to do this or you could look at our generic web service called DBXL, we have a free trial version so you can install and try it out before you buy:

http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/DBXL.aspx

Hope that helps

My requirement is something like this

1) Design an Infopath 2007 form to review AGILE projects
2) Form must be browser enabled.
3) All values entered in the form must be promoted as sharepoint columns, because we do some sort of reporting using data from these columns(export to excel)

My problem is with Sprint phase in Agile.
I used repeating section as there can be any number of sprints.
Now, how should i promote repeating sections columns to form library columns as it gives me only 3 options ( first, last, merge) while promoting.

I have got some limitations like,

1) No code embedded forms
2)Only browser enabled.

Pls help. If its not possible in Infopath pls let me know any other approach which would help me(not necessarily infopath)
