You can try debugging it by adding a popup dialog action after the submit that say "Got past Submit" and see if it shows. If it doesn't it means the submit failed. You should see an error if submit fails though. Is there any code in your form, for example an OnSubmit event handler? If so, that might be the culprit. I just can't imagine that a corrupted form would exhibit the behavior you describe. Gotta be something simple.

Re: Problem closing browser-enabled form

Thanks for the reply, Patrick. I guess I wasn't clear in my post. We are using rules instead of the standard submit action. I tried the submit action after our rules didn't close the form. We do have the overwrite file function enabled. And we do have a close form action after the submit to data connection action.

Re: Problem closing browser-enabled form

Maybe Submit is failing and that's why it isn't working because you haven't enabled overwrite or something silly like that. Go to Submit Options and see what your settings are. You can always change from a Submit button to a button that has a rule with an action that submits, followed by an action that closes, etc.

Problem closing browser-enabled form

We have a form that has three views. The user opens the form to the first (default) view and fills out some information. After the user has provided the required info, a Next button appears at the bottom of the form. When the user clicks Next, the next view appears. Again, the user must enter required information. When he does, he clicks Submit and the form closes. A workflow attached to the SharePoint form library shoots an email to a reviewer. The reviewer clicks a hyperlink in the email body to open the form. This displays the third view. When the reviewer finishes his job, he clicks Submit. The Submit button has a rule that submits the form to the library via a submit data connection and then is supposed to close the form. Instead, the form opens to the first view.

We have used the basic Submit option for the button with no success.

We need to figure out why the form reverts to the default view and remains open.

Thanks.
