Anyway, I was very new to infopath and sharepoint and I couldn't add the repeating tables to the form because I was using a SP list rather than a SP forms library/Document library so the repeating table control wasn't available.

I just recreated the form and published to a forms library, then made an app to get all items from the existing SharePoint list and create a new form for every list item that was in the old SP list. There were 200 items already in the SP list that needed to be added to fields of forms in the new doc library.

Re: Add a table to web compatible InfoPath form where new rows can be added

Hi,

Repeating tables are indeed supported in InfoPath 2010 web browser forms. I'm not sure why they're unavailable in your form - by "unavailable", are you not seeing the Repeating Table option in the Controls section under the Home tab? If not, can you please attach your form template (under the Options tab when you reply to this post) so we can take a look?

Best Regards,

Add a table to web compatible InfoPath form where new rows can be added

Hi Everyone,

I am new to InfoPath and SharePoint and I am having difficulty learning the best methods of developing web browser compatible forms. I am editing a SharePoint web compatible form in infopath and need to add several tables to the form. The data in the tables doesn't need to be stored in my SharePoint list, but the data needs to be available in the tables when the form is opened. Is it possible to have some fields on a form submit to a sharepoint list and others not? I would essentially like to have several repeatable tables on the form, where new entries can be added to each table, but the repeatable table is unavailable for my web compatible form. Alternatively, is it possible to programmatically add a new record to a standard table on an infoPath form?

The following site informs that repeatable tables and sections are available to web browser compatible forms, but they are not available for my web form. Are you aware of the reason?

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-online-enterprise-help/infopath-2010-features-unavailable-in-web-browser-forms-HA102140202.aspx

Really appreciate your assistance,

Phil.
