Thx for your answers. Im a little dissapointed that i have to create a custom button ;-)

It takes maybe 10 seconds to do it and is far preferable to the toolbar button, which cannot be conditionally formatted.

Im talking about a webbrowser enabled form. The close button is the standard close ribbon button. Where can i find settings for that button?

You have to do this:

Disable Save/Save As in the Filler tab of the Form Options menu
Disable Save/Save As/Close/Submit in the Browser tab of the Form Options menu
Use a custom submit button on the form with the action to Close the form

Then, users will have to use the custom Close button, and it will close right away without any prompting.

Hi Ernesto,

thx for your input. I actually tried disabling Save and Save As. That didn´t do the trick for me, the message still pops up.

Where do i find the settings for the close button? I´m using Infopath 2010.

Please check the settings on the Close button. There is an option to warn users about changes made to the form.

If that doesn't work, try going into Form Options and disabling Save and Save As.

Hi everybody,

i have a little problem with multiple views in an infopath form. I created 2 views in my form, one has more details and is shown if the user presses a "show details" button. After the view is changed once, i always get a message prompt if the close button gets clicked. It says something like: "The form maybe contains data changes! Do you realy want to close the form?". To make clear, this is not the real message, i got it in german language only ...

I already set both view to read only hoping that would suppress this message, but without success. Any ideas how to disable, suppress this message for the close button?
