"InfoPath cannot add the event handler.
To work with C# code, VSTA is required..... etc"

I don't have any admin rights to install applications on my machine.

I think I'm going to look into a way to filter the data before it's sent to the form as an alternative route.

Re: InfoPath Data Connection - "An error occurred accessing a data source"

well you can write code in your form.

Re: InfoPath Data Connection - "An error occurred accessing a data source"

Hi Qazi

Thanks for your reply!

I did get the form working, but by changing the Data Connection Response Size rather than the timeout - the form now opens but it's painfully slow, it just took about a minute to load, and then the same again to change views within the form...

you mentioned that I could use code to load the data connection - my form is browser-enabled, built in infoPath rather than Visual Studio, and I'm running S.P. 2007. Will it be possible to insert any code into my form?

1) is using code to retrieve the data set, that will be faster.

2) another is to extend the time out. check this. Though this one is The easiest one, but your form will continue to open slowly

I have a browser-enabled InfoPath form, with a data connection to a SharePoint list. Upon loading, it pulls in data from the SP list and populates a load of fields. It worked fine in development, and it worked fine when there were a few rows of data in the list when I deployed the form.

However, I have now populated the list with about 1700 rows, and there are 80 fields in the list. Suddenly I'm getting "An error occurred accessing a data source".

I tried adding a few hundred lines of data to the list at a time, and the form worked but got slower the more data I added, until the point where it stopped working altogether.
From all of this I can deduce that the error is occurring because of the volume of data it has to process on loading, rather than a broken data connection. Can anyone think of a way around this?
